East Fork Gold at the 2020 Cultivation Classic
The Cultivation Classic is the most scientifically rigorous competition on Earth, and judges craft cannabis grown in Oregon.
East Fork Cultivars was honored to win Gold again this year at the 2020 Cultivation Classic.
This unique world class event is dear to our hearts, celebrating cannabis producers who cultivate superior plants with planet and people in mind.
Held annually in Portland since 2016, the “Cult Classic” also offers unparallelled opportunities for education, with comprehensive and cutting edge talks from experts around the world — in cannabis science, cultivation, and culture.
All flower at the Cult Classic is judged through a double-blinded process: judges have no information on any the varieties they sample.
This process removes bias so that judges can focus on what is most important: “How did the product make you feel?” The scoring pairs these unbiased, mindful reviews from the diverse team of evaluators with consistent lab results that illuminate each submission’s specific chemical composition, including cannabinoid ratios and terpene profiles.
This stands in contrast to many cannabis Cups, which tend to focus on high THC potency numbers and grower name recognition over the many other crucial elements of experiencing the plant.
The Cult Classic includes several awards for unique qualities and particular appeal, as well as Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals in each of the following categories:

The Cultivation Classic’s empirical evaluation and data-driven approach allows event partner Smart Cannabis™ to provide the market with real information about effects, and share useful findings from the overall data set.
This year, due to the novel coronavirus, organizers managed to pivot the award ceremony and some talks to a virtual event. We hold great optimism that next year’s event will allow for us all to meet again.
