Hemp Bar’s Last Mocktail Pouring in June
After an exciting two years, East Fork Cultivars has made the difficult decision to close Hemp Bar.
In May of 2021 we opened Hemp Bar, East Fork’s retail experiment combining CBD products made with hemp sourced from our farm, a creative mocktail program, cannabis science education, and a family-friendly, welcoming space for social consumption.
East Fork Cultivars and Peak Extracts Unite
East Fork Cultivars is thrilled to announce that we have officially joined forces with our longtime partner Peak Extracts.
As independent, family-owned companies with aligned values, East Fork and Peak are strategically banding together in a time of increasing commoditization and corporatization of the cannabis industry.
Why We Cultivate Native Plants on the East Fork Ranch
East Fork Cultivars and other farms are working on a special cultivation project in collaboration with The Understory Initiative and support from the US Fish & Wildlife Service: growing plants that are native to Oregon’s coastal meadows to produce seeds for use in habitat restoration projects in these sensitive habitats.
Why the llama?
Sometimes people ask us: Why the East Fork llama logo? And all the other llama stuff?
And the answer: it’s a homage to the majestic creatures who roamed the farm directly before us.

How We Dry Hemp Flower in a Kiln
Each season, East Fork Cultivars grows around nine acres of USDA Organic Certified hemp. Our hemp is carefully bred and cultivated for its resinous flower buds, the part of the plant that produces exciting compounds like CBD, CBG, aromatic compounds, and much more.
Drying hemp flowers that preserve therapeutic compounds takes a lot of planning, care, and refined infrastructure, particularly at scale.
Honoring the Indigenous Heritage of the Farm
Delving into the Indigenous history of East Fork’s farmland was a deep dive into various historical accounts and sources – some of which, as we discovered, have been misinterpreted or came from informants with a limited understanding to begin with.
The Urgent Necessity of Sungrown Cannabis
There are compelling and urgent reasons for informed consumers to choose sungrown cannabis. These include:
experiencing the full natural expression of the plant
a 99% lighter carbon footprint (or even carbon-negative impact) toward climate change
the enrichment of soil and ecosystems through regenerative farming
2021 Cultivation Updates from the Farm
Our Cultivation Team is happily finishing up plant out, the team’s busiest season of the year. This year we will be trialing a few different no-till methods, with the goal of continually improving our relationship with the farm’s ecology.
Entering our seventh cultivation season, our team is beyond excited at the promise of this year's cultivar selection. Here’s a sneak peak at what we’re currently cultivating for your future delight.
Field Trials and 2021 Limited Hemp Seed Release
After analyzing the data from our 2020 field trials, East Fork is thrilled to announce a limited release of our Oregon Guava and Oregon Swell to hemp farmers as feminized seed for the 2021 season.
Both of these cultivars have performed consistently throughout our partner farm trial sites, and have proven demand in the craft hemp flower market.
