why cANNABIS cLASS?
At East Fork Cultivars we believe that cannabis offers tremendous power to change lives for the better, and we are committed to sharing evidence-based information in order to empower people’s decisions.
To support this mission, we offer a free cannabis science education program, Cannabis Class, to connect people with research through educational blogs at cannabisclass.org, as well as webinars, videos, and in-person events.
Cannabis Class expanded upon our original CBD Certified program, to cover a wide spectrum of foundational cannabis science information within the categories “Plant”, “People”, “Culture,” “Products,” and “Knowledge”.
the program expansion
East Fork launched a free educational workshop, CBD Certified, at the end of 2017.
The first phase of CBD Certified was focused on sharing the emerging research on CBD with front-line cannabis professionals, helping them to better educate and assist dispensary customers. The staffs of more than one hundred Oregon dispensaries took part in these in-person classes. Through 2018 and 2019, we also regularly offered the workshop to cannabis product makers, the general public, and at special events such as the Cultivation Classic. We expanded our scope to educate makers and retailers of hemp-derived products, the staff of a large grocery chain, and even the Oregon Department of Education.
In late 2019, the focus of CBD Certified shifted online to a live webinar format, allowing a much greater range of access while still keeping the spirit of the interactive experience alive.
And in late 2020, East Fork announced the expansion of the CBD Certified program into Cannabis Class, officially broadening the scope and depth of our curriculum.
