5 Years of East Fork Cultivars

It's been five years since we planted our first CBD-rich plants and transformed the East Fork Ranch, a decades-old llama breeding ranch, into a cannabis breeding campus and farm. Our 5-year anniversary has us reminiscing on all that's happened in that time. A lot has changed, while more has remained the same. We remain committed to environmental responsibility, science-based education, and social justice. We've continued to develop and preserve sustainable, sungrown farming methods in order to produce high-quality, genetically diverse, CBD-rich cultivars.

Here’s some of our biggest moments and favorite photos over the years:

2014

That year was when Aaron and Nathan began seeking out CBD genetics, renewing their OHA medical cards so that they could each grow 6 plants, and building the business plan.

2015

June 1st, the first 12 CBD-rich cannabis plants are planted.

2016

Following the end of prohibition, East Fork becomes one of the first licensed cannabis cultivators in Oregon and scales to a full acre of CBD-rich plants.

2017

Wesley Howard, the driving inspiration for East Fork, passes away. His passing renews and deepens East Fork’s mission to ensure affordable access of plant-based therapeutics for people in need.

2018

East Fork receives its license to cultivate hemp (low-THC cannabis) by the Oregon Department of Agriculture and becomes one of the first USDA Organic Certified hemp farms in the country.

2019

East Fork scales to 13 cultivated acres, and is named the U.S. Market Leader in Cultivation by the largest cannabis business conference in the world and a leading authority on cannabis markets in the U.S., MJBizCon and Marijuana Business Daily.

2020

East Fork licenses some of its proprietary cultivars for sale to hemp farmers across the U.S. Over the course of the year, East Fork will launch new branded products, convert its entire hemp supply chain to USDA Organic, open its first flagship retail concept in Portland, and begin growing additional medicinal herbs.

Thank you to our family, friends, colleagues, supporters, community, retailers, product partners, and customers – we are so grateful for your support. Without you, this wouldn’t be possible. We are excited to see what we can accomplish together in the next five years.
