Retail Brand Ambassador (Contract)

East Fork Cultivars is a farm-focused cannabis and hemp company with headquarters in the picturesque Illinois River Valley in Takilma, Oregon, and a satellite office in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 2015, East Fork strives to develop and preserve sustainable, sun-grown farming methods to produce high-quality, genetically diverse, CBD-rich cultivars while maintaining a resolute commitment to environmental responsibility, science-based education, and social justice. 

East Fork is seeking a talented, passionate, and self-directed Retail Brand Ambassador to work with.

This position is located in Portland, Oregon.

Position Summary

The Retail Brand Ambassador’s primary role is to support East Fork’s retail sales channels. The Retail Brand Ambassador will work closely with the Retail Account Manager to service New Seasons Market in September and October 2022, with the potential to continue servicing accounts beyond this time period, pending the success of the New Seasons program.

  • Legally, whether through arrest, incarceration, profiling, or other forms of persecution of the candidate or close family member, and/or;

  • As part of the communities that have been disproportionately targeted by cannabis prohibition enforcement.

Outcomes (in order of priority):

  1. Increase brand awareness and product sales within Portland through community education

  2. Schedule and carry out in-store demos, and other point-of-sale support activities as needed

  3. Maintain a working knowledge of the benefits of CBD, East Fork farming practices, and RTC East Fork hemp products

  4. Utilize google forms to provide feedback on each completed demo

  5. Communicating product benefits and supporting the relationship between Retail Account Manager and Wellness Managers to ultimately increase order frequency at each location

Compensation and Benefits

  • This role is a 1099 independent contractor position

  • Compensation at hire: $25/hr

  • Part time position: 20-25 hrs/wk (time primarily spent on the sales floor at partner locations with some office/remote work time)

  • Brand Ambassador is responsible for tracking all hours and miles and submitting an invoice to East Fork Cultivars to receive payment

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Must be legally able to work in the U.S.

  • 3+ years of sales experience or relevant professional experience — cannabis sales experience preferred but not required

  • Must have own computing/communication devices available for business use

  • Must have own reliable transportation - mileage reimbursed

Work schedule, relationships, and culture

  • Schedule: The Retail Brand Ambassador will set up and carry out 19 Brand Ambassador events (one at each New Seasons location where our products are carried) during the months of September and October, 2022 and sets their schedule in collaboration with the Retail Account Manager and New Seasons Wellness Managers. The scheduled days will be Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday between 10am - 2pm and 4pm - 8pm. Two locations per day preferred.

  • Relationships: The Retail Brand Ambassador will work closely with the Portland team and may have the opportunity to visit East Fork’s farm in Southern Oregon as time permits.

  • Travel: This position requires some travel. We compensate for miles driven using a personal vehicle at the standard IRS business rate (currently $0.625/mile for 2022).
