We launched Hemp Bar as our flagship retail space for quality and accessible low-THC (hemp) goods and CBD mocktails.
East Fork is seeking one talented, passionate and self-directed part time retail/cafe Hemp Bar Cannaristas to join our team. This position is located in Portland, Oregon.
Position Summary
The Hemp Bar Cannarista will be responsible for retail sales and food/beverage service at Hemp Bar. This public-facing role is integral to the success of East Fork Cultivars’ flagship retail/cafe. Ideal candidates will be well-versed in the benefits of CBD and cannabis, and enthusiastic about explaining them to others in a helpful and accurate way. Cannaristas will report directly to the Hemp Bar Manager and are a part of the Portland based Operations Team.
Important note: Candidates must have the ability to work onsite with the general public.

Outcomes (in order of priority):
Act as the primary sales associate during Hemp Bar’s operational hours
Open and close Hemp Bar as scheduled
Deliver exceptional service to all customers who walk through our doors
Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere
Be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about CBD and other minor cannabinoids, and be able to confidently communicate knowledge to guests
Assist guests in selecting retail items based on their preferences
Be knowledgeable about tea and drink preparation and products
Prepare and serve beverages and food items consistently by adhering to all recipe standards
Assist with setup, cleanup, stock work and handling of food and retail items
Cash Handling and End of Day reporting
Adhere to company set standards for safe food handling, cleanliness and safety
Handle customer inquiries both in person and over the phone
Can confidently make decisions in the best interest of the company when the Hemp Bar Manager is not present

Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent
Has a demonstrated ability to offer high levels of customer service to individuals of all backgrounds
Experience working as a Barista, Bartender or in a restaurant is a plus

Knowledge of relevant computer applications (including but not limited to Square POS, eCommerce platforms, and Google Workspace)

Experience working at/in a dispensary setting is a plus
Legal Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be legally able to work in the U.S.
Must possess or be able to obtain Food Handlers Card
Must possess or be able to obtain an OLCC Marijuana Worker Permit
Compensation and Benefits
Starting hourly rate: $20/hour
Paid time off: Accrued PTO of .04 hours for each hour worked (approximately 30-40 hours per year if working part time).

Schedule
The Hemp Bar Cannarista must work onsite and will average about 15-20 hours per week, as set by the Hemp Bar Manager. There is potential for this role to evolve into a full time position depending on the needs of Hemp Bar. This position requires weekend and evening availability as well as some holiday availability.
Travel
This position may require a minimal amount of travel.
